Membership Cost and Process:
Dues for regular members in the Sacramento Model Railroad Historical Society are $20
per month. New members will be given a sponsor and must complete a probationary period of 3 months.
Upon completion, probationary members are either accepted or rejected by the board of directors.
Other classes of membership are available including junior memberships for ages 16-18.
Membership is open to both junior (under 18) and adult members.

Benefits of Membership:
HO and HOn3 Layouts:
Only members may operate their personal model equipment on the Society's layouts. Both layouts adhere to high standards
for trouble-free running.
Regular sessions are held for both the HO standard and narrow gauge layouts.
"Proto Ops" sessions follow many "real railroad" practices such as freight car forwarding using waybills and car
cards, track warrants, and train dispatching.
Develop Modeling Skills
TheSociety provides an opportunity through clinics or layout construction to
improve skills necessary to fully enjoy model railroading.
A variety of topics covering a wide range modeling skills are presented on a regular basis.
Past clinics have included DCC sound
decoder installation, structure building, resin casting, and signal use.
Blue Vests and Dues:
Members have the privilege of paying dues and wearing the Society's historical and
fashionable blue vests.
